All the budget gamers out there, now there is a reason to be excited about Dell’s Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop. The big fat reason is the laptop comes with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q GPUs. The Dell’s machine can support 1080p games at ease in the price bracket of 1000$.

The specs and features for a $949 model

CPU: The equipped processor is a Core i5-7300HQ formerly kaby lake quad core CPU.

Note: Hyper-Threading turned off permanently

RAM: Just one module in the bay and it comes with 8GB. Would be another great trade off if it comes with 16 GB RAM for gaming.

GPU: The best part of the machine is the GPU as it comes with 4GB Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q which has the ability to churn out most of the games at 1080p at a decent level in our test.

Display: The TN panel on the previous generation was bad choice after all. This time Dell has given it a 15.6 IPS screen but still this is not the best one either at this price package but still better than the TN panel for now.

Storage: The storage comes with 256 SSD or 1 TB HD from Samsung. It has a decent size and has room to expand too.

Weight: The weight is becoming an important factor nowadays. The Inspiron 15 7000 weighs 3.17kg which is quite heavy for portability.

Keyboard and Trackpad: They feel standard and functional. Another good highlight is that Dell has integrated fingerprint reader into the power button which supports Windows Hello.
Battery Performance: On a normal day use with 2hrs of gaming on medium settings, 1 hour of media and rest of the time with office work has brought to a total of 6 hours of usage with dimmed brightness. Remember the results can vary to the kind of usage which is being posed on it.

Conclusion

This is definitely a better machine from Dell compared to the predecessor and giving the upgrade to the latest GPU has impressed us in all means. The pricing of the laptop is competitive to the market standard and the features live up to the cost. The laptop is not light and the screen is not great but still relying on the performance it is still a good bargain.
