Acer has just started this year with a bang at CES 2018. The Acer Swift 7 (SF714-51) is the skinniest laptop one would have ever seen, measuring just 8.98mm thick.
Acer proudly claims it as the world’s thinnest laptop. The laptop is in retail this April and it will start at $1,699 / £1,599
This is definitely a good-looking laptop sporting a 1,920×1,080 pixel resolution and a 14 inch Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen display with minimal bezel. The chassis is made out of aluminum and it’s all black theme makes it stand out. Another interesting feature is that the Swift 7 supports 4G LTE technology and the design of the antenna lines are neatly integrated within the unibody.
It is packed with the previous 7th– gen processor supporting 8GB LPDDR3 memory and 256GB of PCIe SSD storage. The laptop’s keyboard is backlit and has good tactile feel and feedback. This machine also supports Windows Hello compatible fingerprint reader. Another important feature is it promises 10 hours of battery life. Though the capability has to be tested on real usage conditions, the ultraportable laptops available right now can support 8 to 9 hours of battery life on an average daily usage so this shouldn’t be a hurdle for the Acer Swift 7 as well.
Being insanely thin and powered by power performing processor and ample storage, the Acer Swift 7 is a well-rounded package to compete within the ultraportable laptop segment. Adding 4G LTE technology makes it even more versatile to hold a firm position in a must buy category.
