Google Pixel Buds

Google has recently launched the Google pixel buds for a price of $159. It looks like google is following apple’s script now. Just like what the apple did, google removed the headphone jack from the pixel 2 device, and launched the wireless Bluetooth headphones. One thing google did differently here is, it did not even include a USB C type headphones. It is quite safe to say, most pixel 2 users have never heard music in their device.

One thing to have in mind before buying the Pixel buds is that the full functionality can be unlocked only using Google’s latest flagship device Pixel 2 or the Pixel 2 XL. While the basic functions can be enjoyed in any other devices, you need to have the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL to use features like marquee and real time translation.

The translation feature of the Pixel Buds is decent but not perfect. The speed at which the translation is done needs to be improved.

If you don’t have a Pixel mobile, then there is no point buying the Pixel Buds as it works as a normal wireless ear buds in other android devices. The sound quality is just like any other Bluetooth headphones – not mind blowing but pretty decent for listening to music.

The Pixel Buds are comfortable, with fabric loop that can be adjusted to fit your ears. It stays intact in ears and doesn’t fall down easily.

Priced similar to the Apple’s AirPods at $159 the Pixel Buds also comes with a case that can charge your Pixel Buds on the go. The headphones can play 5 hours once fully charged, which can further be extended by charging them in the case.
