Apple released the iPhone X a couple of weeks back at a hefty price tag.
I have been using it for the last two weeks and still uncertain whether it is worth the high price tag. That is because the phone distinctly changes the way of using it hence our priorities and the budget to invest gives a second thought.
The Change – Its Size
The iPhone X look new and fresh with slimmer border around its display. It sports a 5.8-inch display, which is Apple’s biggest display even larger than the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus. It’s the only Apple phone that has an OLED screen which gives out richer colors and better contrast. The iPhone X has a 2,436 x 1,125 resolution with 458 pixels per inch
The screen looks much crisper and more vibrant and its App icons on the home screen also look sharper and bolder.
The Apple – Learning Curve
Home button is being removed in most of the android phones. Similarly apple found a way to get rid of the home button too. So to reach back home screen, you need to swipe up from bottom of the phone. It has a digital bar on the bottom that is pulled up like a window shade.
A screen shot can be taken by pressing and releasing the side button and volume up key at the same time. A force restart works when you press volume up, then volume down, and then press and hold the side button until the Apple logo is on.
Face ID – Not my favorite
The notch of the iPhone X is equipped with lots of sensors, an infrared camera, dot projector, proximity sensor and other components. These helps the iPhone X to sense your face right so that you can unlock your phone or make payments on the go.
The Face ID felt faster than the Touch ID but during my 1st week but it wasn’t that great as it did not recognize me most of the time and I had to enter my passcode many times. Face ID improved drastically well in the 2nd week and it got right most of the times even in pitch dark. Yet there were times where I had to hit the passcode.
Apple smartly made the content of your notifications visible only when it recognized your face.
Camera – Color Brilliant
I am pretty impressed with how iPhone X captures in low-light situations. The iPhone X was preserving better detail when clicking a photo during the night.
In the end, the iPhone X is a fresh new experience for existing iPhone users and a definite recommendation for an apple fan. But for android users it’s actually not worth the money you pay but it still is one of the best phones in 2017. It has a great screen, an impressive camera, a fresh new experience and with all these backing up a great battery. Apple’s vision towards iPhone X will change the future product design and technology bringing future closer.
